Post Office
The RAF Lakenheath Post Office, an extension of the USPS, serves over 11,000 personnel at the base. As the second largest military post office in USAFE, it efficiently manages all incoming and outgoing mail, including letters and packages, and is enhancing its services to accommodate the growing needs of the Tri-base community.

Completing Custom Forms Online
- Option 1: Customer Login/Registration
- Use the USPS Click-N-Ship feature by visiting https://cns.usps.com Create a free account, complete your customs declaration form(s) and pay for your packages using one of several USPS approved credit cards to avoid delays at the post office.
- Option 2: Guest sign in
- You can also print a customs declaration form on usps.com without creating an account. Pay at the Outbound Mail window when presenting your package(s) for mailing out at https://www.usps.com/international/customs-forms.htm
- Option 3: Complete at Post Office
- We will have two Click-N-Ship kiosks located in our Outbound Mail lobby with step-by-step instructions to better assist you with this process.
*Please note when choosing a shipping date from the list provided, the date chosen must be the same date you mail out your package(s). Otherwise, you will be required to complete a new online customs form(s).

If you’re a deployed service member, quarantined, or a spouse of a deployed member, you have the option to place your mailbox in a hold status using a DD Form 2258, Temporary Mail Disposition Instructions, or by e-mailing our organizational box at 48FSS.Post.Office@us.af.mil Please include: name, box number and reason for hold.
Additionally, you may authorize an individual to collect mail on your behalf by completing the PS Form 3801, Standing Delivery Order, see attached and return to our org box for processing.” Note: Standing delivery Orders are limited to a six month time frame.
- Proper completion of the PS Form 3801:
Customer will put a start and end date at the top of the form - Name and Address of customer
- Date submitted
- Signature and title of person authorized to sign (Generally the customer comes to our customer service window to sign in from of one of our clerks). This might be our biggest challenge since not all dependents have a way to print the form, sign and send it back to our organizational email address.
- Telephone number
- Under Agent Name they will print the individual that will pick up their mail. *That individual must present a valid ID at the window when picking up mail*
- Restricted delivery and Adult signature Restricted Delivery must be checked if they allow the authorized individual to pick up accountable mail and sign for the items
